Create your first list

Create a list for an occasion (Birthday, Christmas, Wedding) or a general wishlist for year-round ideas.

Tips:

  • Keep list names short and obvious (“Stuart – Birthday”)
  • Use notes for sizes, colour preferences, or “please don't buy this exact one”

Add items fast

You can add items in three ways:

Paste a link

Copy a product URL from any retailer and paste it into WantThis.

Share to WantThis

From your phone's browser (Safari, Chrome) or retailer apps, use the share button and choose “Add to WantThis”.

Add manually

Great for experiences (tickets, subscriptions) or items you found in-store.

Share your list

Send the share link to friends and family. They can browse and reserve items so gift buying stays organised — no duplicate gifts.

Keep gifts a surprise

WantThis is designed so the list owner can manage what they want without seeing who's buying what. Gifters can reserve items, and reservations stay hidden from the list owner.

Turn on price tracking (optional)

For items where it's supported, enable tracking and choose an alert threshold (e.g., 10%). WantThis will record price history and can notify you when the price drops.
